Perform non-invasive vascular testing on peripheral vessels. The Incumbent must be able to travel to other Guthrie Clinic offices in New York and Pennsylvania, when required.
Twelve months of full time clinical ultrasounds/vascular experience is desired. This position will involve some travel and a valid driver’s license is also required.
Completion of a two year allied health education program in patient care is required (i.e. Registered Nurse, Radiologic Technician). CPR training required within six-months of hire. Incumbent must be RVT or CCI. Can be Registry eligible but must sit for and pass RVT within six (6) months of hire.
Responsible for knowing the vascular system, diseases, and symptoms.
Perform ultrasound testing on the carotid arteries, peripheral arteries, and veins.
Recognize abnormal findings and report them to the Technical Director or Vascular Surgeon on call.
Properly mounts results for interpretation.
Responsible for proper cleaning of equipment between patients.
Responsible for proper calibration of equipment on a regular basis.
Responsible for knowing emergency numbers and how to respond accordingly.
Responsible for scheduling and billing of vascular cases.
Travel between worksites and unloading equipment at work sight.
Assist in smooth departmental operations by filling in for other members of the department, i.e. answering phones, and performing related clerical functions as necessary and other responsibilities as assigned.
Promotes the Guthrie Clinic and the Vascular Department in a professional manner. Participates in staff meetings, assists in orientation of new employees, and demonstrates willingness to accept non-routine work assignments.
Accept responsibility for completion of all annual mandatory training (OSHA, compliance, etc.) and attending Coding classes within one year of employment.
Expects to stay in clinic until all patients have been taken care of unless physician states otherwise.
Must possess excellent communication and computer skills.
