Job Summary: Technologist is responsible for the quality and efficient completion of sonography procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Technologist is responsible for providing patient education, quality patient care, and will meet all regulatory compliance.
Education/Certificaton/Licensure Requirements: Must be a graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Sciences or its equivalent. Must possess current ARRT, RDMS license. Must possess RDCS and RVT credentials. Must possess Mississippi State Licensure. Must be current in BSL/CPR. Must obtain ACLS within one year of hire.
Experience: Three years in healthcare/medical radiology (imaging and therapy) preferred. Three years in cardiac echo and vascular ultrasound preferred.
Language/Communication Skills: English required. Multi-lingual capabilities enhance the abilty to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional.
Mathematical Skills: Skill in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, without a calculator. Knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass and weight) and U.S. equivalents. Skills in computing ratios, rates and percentages.
Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilites whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. Critical thinking and multi-tasking skills a must. Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do. Must possess purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations upon which that judgment is based.
