Aiken Regional Medical Centers Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 259-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Nuclear Medicine Technologist Performs health care services utilizing radiopharmaceuticals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease states. Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures and uses related techniques, producing images for interpretation by the Radiologist. Performs required equipment quality control procedures and reports deficiencies to supervisor. Essential Job Duties: - Prepares room, equipment, radiopharmaceuticals and materials as needed for procedures.
- Maintains clean and stocked procedure room on a daily basis.
- Properly calibrates equipment daily, and assures equipment is working properly. If equipment is not functioning properly, notifies appropriate person.
- Prepares patient for CT procedure - explains procedure, transfers patient to examination table, positions patient correctly, and assists patient at end of procedure.
- Sends images to PACS appropriately and verifies all are available for interpretation in a timely manner.
- Performs general clerical, file room, darkroom, and transportation duties when needed to fulfill the workload of the department.
- Assists Radiologists during procedures and takes films as requested
- Responsible for ensuring that patient charges are given to the appropriate person to be entered into the EHR in a timely manner and that the charges are accurate.
- Must know and implement radiation safety procedures when working with radiation producing equipment 100% of the time
- Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all data, records, forms, reports, and procedures and any other information regarding customer relations of Aiken Regional Medical Centers 100% of the time.
