The Department of Radiology at New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is recruiting a Diagnostic Radiologist who is fellowship trained in Musculoskeletal Radiology due to retiring faculty member. This position is at the Assistant Professor level or higher, and new graduates are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with future leadership interest. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about teaching and clinical excellence. Teaching of medical students and residents is required. Although research is encouraged and protected time is available to pursue such endeavors, it is not compulsory. The department has an excellent mix of clinical pathology with a focus on trauma and oncology. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable interpreting musculoskeletal imaging across all modalities including plain film, CT. MRI and Ultrasound and performing arthrograms. In addition, participation in the general call pool will be expected necessitating comfort with emergent body CT and US. The successful applicant must possess an M.D or D.O degree, ABR certification in Diagnostic Radiology and a valid New Jersey medical license.
The department has 28 clinical and research faculty members, and 18 residents who provide patient care for all of the major divisions of contemporary imaging. The department is responsible for diagnostic imaging at University Hospital, a tertiary care center as well as the Doctor’s Office Center and the Advanced Practice Imaging center. The department also covers two satellite facilities and is expanding its service
