TRA-MINW is seeking a Full-time Ultrasound Technologist. Technologist must perform sonography functions, in accordance with departmental protocols, as wells as adhering to ARDMS standards and ethics. Candidate will accurately implement the orders of the referring physician, and work with the ultrasound team to provide General, OB, Vascular and Breast Imaging services. Knowledge and experience with Pediatric Ultrasound is required. Candidate must have knowledge of PACS and Radiology Information Systems as it pertains to the patient’s exam. ARDMS Registered technologist with Registries in Abdomen and OB. Breast Registry and vascular imaging are a plus. 3 years prior experience required.
Essential Job Functions:
Provides patient care in accordance with the mission statement of the company.
Prepares patient for ultrasound exam with thorough explanation of the procedures and clear instructions.
Obtains a thorough patient history as it relates to the exam to be completed.
Accurately implements the orders of the referring physician.
Able to perform examinations of the Abdomen, Pelvis, OB, Small Parts & Vascular structures with accuracy.
Able to present ultrasound examinations to the Radiologist in a professional precise manner.
Able to perform examinations in a timely manner
Completes Modality Worksheet with accurate information for the Radiologist
Maintains high standards regarding the accurate recording of patient information
Present high quality ultrasound images and pertinent patient history to radiologist for interpretation.
Utilizes accurate written and oral communications with patients, physicians, co-workers and supervisors.
Utilizes exemplary customer service skills with patient and family members.
Performs necessary computer functions associated with patient exam. Includes PACS.
Keeps work area and patient exam areas neat and stocked with appropriate supplies.
Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel
Maintains a professional demeanor with confidentiality
Is prompt and efficient with minimal absences
Cooperates and maintains good rapport with co-workers to ensure proper patient care and efficient workflow.
Understands and adheres to the role of the Ultrasound Modality Specialist.
Able to travel to other TRA-MINW offices. (Tacoma, Lakewood & Olympia)
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Education/Work Experience Required: Graduate from an Accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program. Registry or registry eligible in ultrasound. ARDMS in Abdomen & OB/GYN preferred. Breast & Vascular Registry a plus as would a certification in Nuchal Translucency.
Able to perform a variety of examinations pertaining to the Abdomen and Pelvis. Including
OB (1st 2nd 3rd Trimester) Biophysical Profile Small Parts (Breast, Scrotal & Thyroid).
Vascular to include (Carotid, Lower Extremity Venous)
Physical Requirements Work is classified as moderate in physical requirements. Must be able to support or lift patients of varying weight. Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Also requires manual dexterity sufficient to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard. Vision of the technologist within normal range.
Mental Requirements Work requires high attention to detail and the ability to handle mentally stressful situations. The ability to maintain high level of sensitivity towards confidential information is also required.
Working/Environmental Conditions Most sonographer professionals work in a clean, well-ventilated, comfortable and pleasant healthcare facility. They spend most of their time taking diagnostic imaging exams on patients of all ages in a dark, comfortable room.
Sonographer professionals are at risk of developing musculoskeletal disorder, carpal tunnel syndrome, body fatigue, and back straining due to the nature of their work. Fortunately the use of ergonomically-enhanced equipment can substantially reduce these risks. Full-time sonographer professionals work 40 hours a week. Possible exposure to communicable disease.
