The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking a Clinical Medical Physicist. The Division of Medical Physics at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ invites applicants interested in a faculty position in our clinical Medical Physics division. There is also an opportunity to serve as the Division Chair of Medical Physics if interested. The successful candidate will join a Medical Physics division that currently numbers 4 PhD, 2 MS and 3 BS staff.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the clinical practice as well as focus on clinical innovation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with patients and other healthcare professionals are essential, along with the ability to lead and be an effective team member. Abundant opportunities exist with working with strong scientific collaborators and clinicians from the other Mayo Clinic campuses (Rochester and Florida) as well as nearby institutions including Arizona State University, the nationâ™s largest university by enrollment. Teaching duties of the Medical Physicist would be to a broad audience, including clinical trainees (16 radiology residents), allied health staff and staff clinicians.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in multiple aspects of Medical Physics. Applicants with previous experience as successful independent and principle investigators are preferred. The candidate would have detailed knowledge in medical physics as indicated by a strong first author publication bibliography
License or certification Candidates must have a PhD from an accredited graduate program in Medical Physics or equivalent and must be board certified with the American Board of Radiology or Canadian College of Medical Physics. An academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor is desired.
