The Waterford Vein Institute of Hawaii & Pacific Rim Cardiovascular is accepting applications and interviewing select candidates for a Full Time position as a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist. The Position is available beginning February 2019, and we will continue to interview appropriate qualified and experienced applicants until the position is filled.
The Full Time Position is 3 days per week, 28 - 32 hours per week, and is based on the Big Island of Hawaii, in our Kailua – Kona facility. Occasional but infrequent travel and support of our similarly equipped Start of the Art Kahului Hilo/Big Island of Hawaii as well as our Kahului Maui facility might also be required.
The Waterford Vein Institute & Pacific Rim Cardiovascular sees and evaluates the full spectrum of peripheral vascular problems, ranging from venous reflux to DVT and other obstructive venous disease processes, as well as the full gamut of peripheral arterial problems, including but not limited to the carotid arteries, the upper and lower extremity peripheral arteries, as well as the arteries in the abdomen and pelvis, including the aorta, iliac arteries, and mesenteric vessels.
Competitive applicants will have significant training and experience as Vascular Ultrasound Technologists, including venous and arterial. Certification as an RVT is a prerequisite for this position. Experience with Venous Procedures, including Radiofrequency and Laser Ablation is preferred, as well as familiarity and comfort with sterile technique, but we are willing to train otherwise qualified applicants if they don’t have a lot of surgical experience. Preference will be given to applicants who are also dual certified in Cardiac Sonography, as we also provide some basic diagnostic and follow up surveillance for individuals with valvular heart disease and/or ascending aortic and aortic root aneurysms.
This is an exclusively outpatient position, with no nights, no week-ends, and no call.
Attention to detail, ability to function independently as well as with other team members, accountability, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic are important attributes that the successful candidate will need. Strong organizational skills are essential. Familiarity and comfort with nuances of sterile technique is required as well.
