Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, Kimmel Cancer Center, is now accepting applications for a full-time faculty position as the Enterprise Clinical Physics Director in the Department of Radiation Oncology. The enterprise consists of seven radiation oncology locations across the Philadelphia and South Jersey region. The medical physics division is currently comprised of 14 physicists and 4 physics residents. Primary responsibilities of this highly motivated individual include clinical oversight and administrative duties pertaining to all departmental locations as defined by the Vice Chair for Medical Physics. This position will have direct clinical supervision of the Center City sites.
The department offers state-of-the-art treatment capabilities including Varian TrueBeam and Elekta Agility linacs, 4D CBCT, 6 DoF robotic couch, Nucletron HDR, and Cyberknife. A dedicated radiosurgery division includes Truebeam STx with ExacTrac using BrainLab and Eclipse software, and Elekta Gamma Knife ICON. Treatment planning at the centralized main campus is carried out using Eclipse and Monaco v5 with additional MIM imaging software. Other special procedures include TBI, TSET and extensive brachytherapy programs for the treatment of breast, prostate, skin, GYN, H&N, brain diseases, and for cardiovascular/interventional radiology. Prostate HDR is carried out in a dedicated BrachySuite using real-time US-guided Oncentra Prostate planning. The division supports a wide range of Thermal Oncology treatments using multi-channel microwave equipment for superficial tumors and radiofrequency phased array system for deep regional hyperthermia.
The Medical Physics Division of the Radiation Oncology Department has an active academic program that includes strong research efforts in a number of areas. The incumbent is expected to initiate new research directions and to take part in ongoing research programs. Faculty appointment will be made available commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. Involvement in the training of both physician and physics residents, as well as teaching of the Jefferson radiation therapy program, dosimetry program and emerging medical physics graduate program is expected.

Experience and interest in multi-modality imaging, multi-vendor systems, advanced treatment planning, and clinical program development in 4D, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, brachytherapy, radiopharmaceuticals and multi-facility practice accreditation (including APEx and ACR) are desirable. As the department uses a wide range of equipment, experience and interest is using this equipment is a must.
