Your Role
Seeking a Clinical Research Navigator with clinical research knowledge and experience to join our budgeting and billing support services team. The team and its responsibilities are expanding in response to requirements of the "EpicLeap (eStar) for Research" implementation and centralized support initiatives to meet the needs of the Vanderbilt research community. The team provides support services related to clinical trial budgeting, billing, e-Star and eSmart to researchers and their teams. The team provides assistance with budget development and negotiation and is involved in contributing to content, processes and testing of researcher-oriented software improvements (eSmart); manage just-in-time reminders aimed at improving compliance with eStar billing and research documentation requirements; contribute content for and participate in informational, educational and training sessions, and provide other related services. Team members collaborate with the Department of Finance Clinical Trials Billing Compliance team, the Vanderbilt Coordinating Center and the VICTR Research Support Services Smart Team to assist research staff in understanding and applying financial and billing best practices.
In collaboration with the VU Human Research Protections Program, the Clinical Research Navigator II assists with the optimal application of the Federal, State, and local laws, guidance documents, VU Institutional policies, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures while meeting the objectives of the VU research community. Consults on complex research and regulatory issues in conjunction with the team(s) to identify solutions and develop improvement processes. The Clinical Research Navigator II researches topics of departmental, institutional or strategic importance.
Position Qualifications
- Master's Degree Preferred
- 6+ years of experience preferred
- Experience with healthcare billing plans preferred
- Working knowledge of clinical trial budgeting preferred
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills, great communication skills, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
