Fantastic Medical Instrument Technician -Vascular (RVT) opportunity helping our Veterans in Atlanta!
The Atlanta VAMC is in search for multiple Medical Instrument Technician -Vascular (RVT). The position entails broad clinical care of patients with cardiovascular diseases who may be seen in the outpatient vascular lab and inpatient areas. The RVT uses a wide range of equipment to non-invasively acquire and record information related to blood vessel anatomy and physiology. The RVT reports to the Chief of Vascular Surgery and performs ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Series & Grade: GS-0649-08
The Surgical Service of the Atlanta Veterans Health Care System, is comprised of eleven surgical subspecialty sections dedicated to providing the highest quality, Veteran-centered surgical care throughout the system.
Interested candidates must have a complete and thorough knowledge of cross sectional anatomy of the carotid arteries, peripheral arteries, venous systems along with adequate knowledge of renal arteries, celiac, mesenteric splenic and hepatic arteries, and lower extremity reflux examinations.
Selectees shall perform approximately 8 to 10 exams daily, on site, depending on case mix. RVT will perform carotid duplex exams, lower extremity pressure measurements, ankle-brachia! indices, and lower extremity pulse volume recordings.
Preferable experience would be in Vascular Labs that include the performance of carotid duplex exams, lower extremity arterial and grafts studies, dialysis access evaluation, lower extremity reflux examination, lower extremity vein mapping, upper extremity arterials, AAA as well as post op EV AR exams and abdominal artery exams along with non-invasive procedures, and non-invasive anatomic and functional exams of the vascular system.
Must have Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT) Certifications.
