We are currently seeking a Multimodality Tech to operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by the physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Selects appropriate imaging techniques and operates console and peripheral hardware. Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in an automatic processor. Performs a variety of imaging procedures including MRI, CT and X-Ray; responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates actively in Performance Improvement, Radiation Safety, Patient Satisfaction, Radiological Patient and Physician Education, Continuous Quality Improvement, and Employee Satisfaction Committees. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in Radiography, MRI and CT required. Associate Degree of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology and/or Bachelor’s Degree in radiologic sciences from an AMA approved school preferred. Must have current BLS card within 3 months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout employment.
Experience: Prefer at least two years of professional MRI experience in a hospital patient care setting. Minimum of eighteen years of age.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of medical radiation physics and theory, the ability to give and evaluate patient care during imaging examinations. Knowledge of District policies, regulations and procedures in administering radiation and imaging patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to safely administer imaging examinations. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, both written and on computer, and responding to correspondence. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, co-workers and the public. Ability to maintain performance improvement and quality control standards. Ability to comply with GRHD organizational polices regarding ethical business practices. Ability to communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the GRHD. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred, but not required. Must be proficient within six (6) months of hire in Meditech, PACS, Allscripts EHR, Allscripts ED, Pyxis, Picom, Microsoft Office, Kronos, ECI, and Dosewatch.

WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This position performs tasks that involve Category I exposure to blood borne pathogens, body fluids or tissues. Exposure to patients’ conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells and diseases are common. Frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards. May experience traumatic situations including psychiatric, dismembered and deceased patients.
