JOB SUMMARY: Participates in a variety of technical duties necessary to secure and process pediatric and congenital echocardiograms. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
Works under the supervision of the Pediatric Echo Lab Supervisor, Medical director of Pediatric Echocardiography and the Operations Manager.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathophysiology, medical terminology and electrophysiology.
Demonstrates strong organizational skills, good interpersonal skills and a high regard for confidentiality.
Demonstrates computer skills.
Demonstrates flexibility, tact and ability to perform both independently and as a team member.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited training program in cardiac ultrasound required. Eligibility to sit for RCCS certification from CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) and/or RDCS Certification in Pediatrics from ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography). Either above certification is required within 24 months after start date.
Pediatric experience preferred, but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
Travel to outreach required.
Must be able to respond within 45 minutes to GMC campus in Danville, PA when on call.
Minimum six months on the job training to become familiar with all duties required.
