Maryland Vein Professionals is looking for a full-time RVT Sonographer to work between our Columbia and Annapolis offices. Maryland Vein Professionals is a National Center for Excellence for the latest techniques of minimally invasive vein care. MVP, a national leader in Radiofrequency Ablation, performing up to 30 treatments a day, six days a week. With an experience of 40,000 procedures. The experience of Maryland Vein Professionals is tough to match anywhere in the country, if not the world.
Performs full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures that require operation of real-time and portable equipment as well as multiple imaging modalities on patients of all ages.
Positions patients appropriately for test being performed following established protocols.
Explains procedures and positioning to patients.
Monitors and maintains essential patient care and safety during procedures; applies safety principles as identified by established policy.
Selects and operates equipment; selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.
Discerns the correct examination to be performed by a combination of exam ordered, clinical history, and patient condition.
Provides test results to patient’s physician and other appropriate healthcare providers.
Performs daily quality control of equipment and other quality assurance/quality control activities as required.
Maintains department statistics and records.
Maintains inventory of necessary supplies.
Prepares room for diagnostic procedures.
Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices.
Ensures compliance with legal issue including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations.
Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Graduate of an accredited medical diagnostic sonography program
One to two years related experience or equivalent.
Current CPR Certification.
Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
