JOB TITLE: Resuscitation Education Assistant LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center Hospital DEPARTMENT: Resuscitation Education WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full TIme (1.0 FTE, 80 Hours Biweekly) JOB SUMMARY: Promote resuscitation skills activities to support inter-professional and interdisciplinary teamwork, and maintenance of certification, patient safety and quality initiatives. Integrate resuscitation simulation to effectively train and objectively assess applied knowledge, adequacy of skills and level of competence. Provide support for logistics, training and interface of technology, education and health care resources and personnel. Works directly with Geisinger CPR coordinator. Reports directly to the Director of nursing Education and Magnet. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates skills in managing the logistics of scheduling learners, faculty, equipment and facilities. Demonstrates required knowledge of principles of office administration and coordination of groups. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word and Excel, and also proficient with Outlook e-mail and related functions. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact comfortably with learners as individuals and in small groups. Demonstrates the ability to gain knowledge of program regulations, governing body requirements, state licensing, and Geisinger regulations. Demonstrates the ability to be self-motivated and possess excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge of governing body requirements, state licensing and Geisinger regulations. Demonstrates ability to work independently and as a team player. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years’ experience in an academic healthcare setting, Associate’s degree preferred. An additional three years of related experience may substitute for the degree. Experience should include project or program coordination and 1-3 years previous resuscitation teaching experience, with knowledge of the Geisinger system. Six months of on-the-job training is required to become competent in job duties. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Primarily day shift with occasional eves and nights for skills checks as needed Work is typically performed in an office environment.
