Position Overview
Business Analyst interacts with the business to identify goals and needs for data and analytics needs. Business Analyst will then write down the requirements and communicate them directly to the BI (Business Intelligence) team or a solutions developer and deliver the solutions to the business.
Responsibilities of defining scope of work requirements for reporting requests.
Responsibilities:
- Determine operational objective of request for data and analytics.
Prepare technical specs by collecting, analyzing and summarizing report requests.
Maintain report libraries.
Collaborate with application analyst to prepare detailed scope of work for report writer.
- Review and assist in validation of data.
Bridge between operation and business intelligence team.
Monitoring ticketing system for data and analytics request
Work with the PMO (Project Management Office) group scoping reporting needs for project level work.
Working with Epic ARL's and/ or Oracle for reporting needs from AWS (Amazon Web Services).
Work with Business Owners developing reports pertinent for business decisions.
Essential Job Functions:
Excellent communication skills, in person, virtually, using Microsoft Teams and emails.
Develops a thorough understanding of business processes, data sets and clinical knowledge of operations to translate work for report writers.
Review system enhancements (example: Epic Nova Notes) relative to Reporting Team.
Collaborate with vendors to gather detailed scope of work and technical specs for extracts.
Add access for additional approved users to existing Power BI reports
Ensure delivered data supports the line of business requirements.
Develops understanding of enterprise data architecture, data platforms and data operations.
Understands data model structures and extract transform and load (ETL) services in relation to business intelligence duties.
Provides hands on technical knowledge and capabilities of the use of Power BI to end users.
- Supports environment change management control by complying with change management standards for data needs and approvals.
Supports the organization and sourcing of data for business intelligence initiatives from approved data sources to support and enable strong enterprise data management standards.
Provides ongoing support for developed business intelligence solutions inclusive of reports, visual analytics and limited data model development.
Operates in a coordinated manner with the Director of Organization Effectiveness and Productivity and the Business Intelligence Developers team.
Builds rapport and an understanding with the Executive team, Site Leaders, Service Line Leaders and team members requiring data needs/ reports.
Maintains good punctuality and attendance at work.
Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
Consistently views data as a secure asset providing access only to those that must be used for daily decision making, strategic planning and business initiatives.
Troubleshoot problems and questions from end users to provide daily support.
Collaborate with BID Manager and Dir of Organizational Effectiveness and Productivity to prioritize and assign urgent requests.
Follows all security protocols for access to all report requests.
Ability to identify problems and challenges, assess potential solutions, and draw sound conclusions while acquiring buy-in from key stakeholders.
Ability to work with data warehousing and business intelligence systems.
Ability to demonstrate effective project management and customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task and work effectively with exacting deadlines.
Ability to work timely and independently.
Education:
* Associates degree or Bachelors in a related field or an equivalent of work history and education
* Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED
Required:
* Min of 2 years of experience working as a Business Intelligence or Data Analyst (Oracle and/or Epic knowledge)
* Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
* Preferred skill in Cherwell Ticketing responsibilities.
