Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Fellowship Trained Breast Surgeon, you will join our growing team at our award-winning Virginia Mason Medical Center (VMMC) campus in Seattle, WA. You will play a pivotal role in a leading Comprehensive Breast Program, providing expert surgical care and contributing to a patient-centered model. Every day you will engage in collaborative care, working seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team including medical and radiation oncology, breast imaging, pathology, plastic surgery, genetics, and supportive care specialists. You will be responsible for delivering evidence-based, coordinated treatment plans for patients with both benign and malignant breast conditions, utilizing advanced surgical technologies and participating in robust tumor board discussions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a fellowship in breast surgery, demonstrating a commitment to advanced training and expertise in breast disease. You will exhibit outstanding clinical skills, a collaborative spirit, and a dedication to improving patient lives. Experience in a growing breast program, an interest in clinical research, and a passion for utilizing innovative surgical techniques are highly desirable. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide comprehensive surgical evaluation and management of benign and malignant breast disease.
- Perform the full spectrum of breast surgery including breast conservation, oncoplastic surgery, mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy, axillary dissection and advanced surgical techniques.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary breast clinic and tumor board conferences
- Collaborate with the breast team to coordinate individualized treatment plans.
- Support and advance quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based care pathways and program development.
- Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in community outreach, education, and breast cancer awareness initiatives.
- Engage in clinical research, teaching, and mentorship opportunities as available.
- Foster a compassionate patient-centered environment emphasizing shared decision-making and survivorship care.

Job Requirements
Required
- Medical Degree
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Breast Surgery/Surgical Oncology,
- Fellowship training with focus on Breast Surgery
- Unrestricted Washington State Medical License
- DEA with full prescriptive authority
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of breast surgery principles
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of experience post Fellowship preferred
